David Neuman ’83
David Neuman, a communication studies major, is a charismatic young man whose service contributions are all the more exceptional considering his almost perfect grade point average and the fact that he is largely self-supporting. Neuman served as a student Regent last year. His maturity, judgment and diplomatic skills proved Neuman a success in his terms as campus events commissioner, counselor for the communications studies program, director of the associated students speakers program and undergraduate member of the Board of Control. Neuman is a recipient of the Distinguished Scholar Award and was selected Homecoming King.
Neuman was a campus promotions representative for Columbia Pictures and a researcher for Norman Lear. He interned with MTM Productions and KNBC TV’s “Sunday Show.” Neuman also volunteered as coordinator of a media fairness project for “People for the American Way.” His ambition is to become a motion picture producer. He has just been selected a White House Fellow.
