Evan Caminker ’83
Evan Carminker is one of a handful of undergraduates to pursue an individual major at UCLA. Maintaining a perfect 4.0 grade point average, he has pursued interdisciplinary studies addressing environmental problems as they relate to economic and political issues. Carminker just completed work on his senior thesis investigating pollution control practices of the South Coast Air Quality Management District. He has already published articles in scholarly journals. UCLA’s Distinguished Scholar Award winner of 1982, Carminker was one of two students chosen to participate as a member of the Executive Committee of the College of Letters and Science.
Voted “Most Valuable Debater,” Carminker is a three-year veteran of the debate team. He and his partner established a national record for consecutive debate victories during the past season.
Carminker has been accepted to attend law school at both Harvard and Yale University this fall.
