James Jacobson, executive vice president of CalFed Inc., is a caring individual who generously applies his guidance to numerous civic and cultural concerns. Respected for his extensive professional accomplishments, he possesses a great love for the community; he maintains an abiding loyalty to organizations of service and interest to all people.

Dedicated to the ideal of high quality in medical services for young members of society, Jacobson was inspired to become the chairman of the board of the Orthopedic Hospital and a board member of the Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center and the Central Los Angeles vice Chairman of the United Crusade.

Jacobson is a graduate of UCLA with a degree in business administration. He attended the Wharton School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania and received an M.B.A. from the University of Southern California. He participates on the board of directors for UCLA’s California Institute for Cancer Research. A devoted advocate of the performing arts, Jacobson served eight years as the vice president of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association. He is past chairman of the board of the Los Angeles Ballet.
