James Kindel, Jr., a senior partner of Kindel & Anderson, is a leader in the legal profession who selflessly provides great energy and expertise in service to his alma mater. He is esteemed as a man of remarkable ability and integrity, and his love for UCLA is expressed in affectionate, personal dedication.

A founding member of The UCLA Foundation Board of Trustees, Kindel has served the board for nearly 20 years in a variety of capacities, notably as vice president of the planned giving and general counsel. He is founder of the UCLA School of Law, and he took an active and pivotal role in establishing the paralegal training program at UCLA Extension. He remains a special advisor to this enterprise.

Kindel graduated from UCLA with a bachelor’s degree in economics. He earned his law degree from Loyola Marymount. Manus, the campus support group for UCLA’s Museum of Cultural History, has benefited greatly from Kindel’s involvement. He donated a personal collection of Guatemalan santos, representing a substantial addition to the Museum’s holdings. He is a founding member of The Chancellor’s Associates, and he holds a lifetime membership with the Alumni Association.
