Judy Chicago ’62, M.A. ’64

Artist and author, Judy is generally placed at the center of feminist art history. She pioneered feminist art education in the early 1970s, initiating the first program of its kind at California State University, Fresno. Since that time, she has brought her educational principles to institutions across America through lectures and workshops. Judy has received numerous awards, including an honorary doctorate from Russell Sage College and two grants from the National Endowment for the Arts. The Schlesinger Library has recently accepted her papers for the History of Women in America at Radcliffe College, a singular honor, as few artists are included in this major archive.
