Few have given more energy to the arts than Marilyn Ehrman, who has held positions of leadership in a number of prestigious arts support groups at UCLA and in the community at large. Ehrman is a former president of Royce Two-Seventy, which supports the UCLA Center for the Performing Arts. Under her guidance, Royce Two-Seventy became one of the most successful support groups for one of the most successful university performing arts programs in the world. One of her ambitious projects as presidents was chairing the gala 1981 tribute to Henry Mancini in Pauley Pavilion, as well as the Carol Burnett tribute.

In addition to her work with Royce Two-Seventy, Ehrman boosted the Center for the Performing Arts by serving on the board of Design for Sharing, a group that enables the underprivileged to attend the outstanding professional performances presented at UCLA. With the UCLA Art Council, Ehrman was director for a term and also served as chair of the Thieves Marker Committee. With the College of Fine Arts, Ehrman chaired the Howard the Duck event that benefitted the UCLA Film and Television archive. The Medical Center Auxiliary is another of Ehrman’s affiliations.

Beyond her UCLA service, Ehrman has been a board member for such community groups as Planned Parenthood, the Natural History Museum Alliance, the World Affairs Council, KCET-TV and the Craft and Folk Art Museum. She has been described as “indefatigable” by other community and campus leaders who have had the pleasure of working with her on projects large and small.
