An unusually dedicated and accomplished doctoral student in the Graduate school of Education’s learning and instruction program, Dr. Gordon has brilliantly applied learning theory to the development of classroom and media instruction throughout her career.

The mother of four children, she entered doctoral studies as an experienced producer of television programs, holding a Delta Kappa Gamma International graduate scholarship. A superior student with an extraordinarily high energy level, she was also awarded several highly competitive grants to work with community agencies and schools in Ventura and Los Angeles counties. Her research has contributed valuably to the elaboration of widely respected learning theory.

Since beginning her doctoral studies at UCLA, Dr. Gordon has tirelessly volunteered her skills to various community groups in Ventura County as a television producer, writer and director. She was a volunteer member of a team evaluating legislative grant proposals for the Ventura County Schools. She also coordinated the efforts of city governments, police departments, recreation and school districts, historical societies and other community agencies to produce quality public access and other community programs.  Dr. Gordon has demonstrated a highly meritorious combination of scholarship, creativity and commitment.
