Michael Wang ’82

Michael Wang has consistently demonstrated his ability and desire to creatively apply his knowledge for the benefit of others. He majored in psychobiology and maintained a 3.99 grade point average since entering UCLA. He has proved to be an outstanding scholar and researcher. He has volunteered over 900 hours of his time at the Neuropsychiatric Institute in the area of treatment and research of epilepsy. For his work at the Institute, Wang was named Outstanding Student Volunteer by the Westwood Rotary Club. His volunteer efforts, however, were not confined to the clinic. He served as supervisor of the Life Science Tutor Program and vice president and president of both the Undergraduate Psychology Association and the UCLA chapter of Psi Chi, the national psychology honors society.

Wang is a Regents’ Scholar, Alumni Scholar and Alumni Association Distinguished Scholar. He has co-authored many published works describing research in which he has taken part. After graduation, he will attend UCSF Medical School.
