Roy Aaron

Few alumni have contributed as much to the UCLA campus as Roy Aaron. It becomes, thus, more surprising that Aaron is actually a Berkeley alumnus. In the past 30 years, however, Aaron has been an omnipresent force in the UCLA community, offering his time and services to a multitude of campus organizations.

Aaron has been an ardent supporter and advocate of the UCLA Foundation, serving on virtually every committee within the organization. Currently, he is on the board of directors, board of governors, on the by-laws committee, investment committee, and is chair of the venture capital funds coordination committee. He served as chair of the UCLA Foundation from 1998-2000, accepted leadership responsibilities in five other committees, and has participated in 12 committees since 1990.

Aaron’s involvement stretches throughout campus, ranging from his participation in Bruin Hoopsters to his service on the board of directors at the Hammer Museum. He currently serves on the board of visitors in the School of Arts and Architecture and the Board of Visitors of the UCLA Library. He has also served as a board member at the Rape Treatment Center at the Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center as well as the Rape Treatment Foundation. Further, he has been active with UCLA College, serving on three committees there as well. This laundry list of participation is only a brief sample of Aaron’s widespread activities on the UCLA campus. His efforts have helped to propel UCLA into the future.

“Even though Roy’s degree is actually from Berkeley, his dedication to and love for UCLA surpass those of many UCLA graduates … Whether it is providing financial support to the UCLA Library or for Alumni Scholarships, whether it is co-chairing the most ambitious fundraising campaign in UCLA’s history or working to increase diversity on the UCLA Foundation boards and committees, Roy never says ‘no’ when UCLA comes calling.”
