Stanley Wainer ’50

Stanley Wainer is chairman of the board, president and chief executive officer at Wyle Laboratories, a leading marketer of high-technology electronic components, computer systems and research services. One of the nation’s premier corporate executives and a man of varied endeavors, he generously applies his leadership skills and insight to numerous civic and University concerns. Highly respected and admired by his colleagues, his record of achievement and affability represents a standard to which all leaders in American industry may aspire.

Wainer graduated from UCLA with a bachelor’s of science degree in business administration, and he completed the UCLA Graduate School of Management Executive Program. He mastered the posts of chief financial officer and administrative officer and director of four Paramount Pictures Corporation subsidiaries. He joined Wyle Laboratories in 1962 as vice president of finance.

Active in several community groups, Wainer serves on the board of governors for the National conference of Christians and Jews and served as director of that organization of seven years. He is a member of the Advisory Council for Orthopedic Hospital. UCLA has, for more than twenty years, benefited from Wainer’s persistent energy and vision. A former Regent of the University of California, he acts in a variety of capacities for The UCLA Foundation Board of Trustees. He served with distinction as president and director of the Alumni Association from 1980 to 1982.
