Juana Hernandez '09

Juana Hernandez '09 (Life member) was recently recognized as one of "40 Under 40" rising civic leaders in Los Angeles County. Sponsored by the Empowerment Congress, the Office of Los Angeles County Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas and retired State Assembly member Sebastian Ridley-Thomas, the annual awards ceremony honors Los Angeles leaders from the government, philanthropic, nonprofit and private sectors.

As senior manager of postsecondary initiatives at the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce, Hernandez leads regional cross-sector partnerships and helps mobilize the business community to advocate for policies that expand higher education opportunity.
