Jenny Hofmeister '08

Jenny Hofmeister '08 has been announced as one of the five winners of the 2019 BioOne Ambassador Award, an accolade created to spotlight rising scholars in their field. BioOne invited qualified nominees to submit a 250-word, plain-language summary explaining the impact of their specialized work on the public at large. This year's winners hail from around the world, including Germany and Spain.

Hofmeister, who earned her bachelor's degree in marine biology and went on to earn her Ph.D. at UC Berkeley, was nominated for her research on the comparative diets of octopuses who live inside and outside of marine protected areas (MPAs). Her summary of her work was selected for its clarity and relevance.
