Evan Kleiman ’76, M.B.A. ’80

Evan Kleiman ’76, M.B.A. ’80 is a culinary multi-tasker. Not a “foodie,” she characterizes herself as a food geek. As the host of Good Food on 89.9 KCRW-FM and kcrw.com, she has conducted more than 6,000 interviews over the past 14 years.
Kleiman also makes food and has worked as a chef for more than 30 years. Most recently she was the chef-owner of Angeli, one of Los Angeles’ most celebrated hotspots for food fans, for 27 years.
Kleiman has written six cookbooks and is active in working toward a sustainable food system for California. She works directly with the Los Angeles Food Policy Council and the statewide organization Roots of Change, which recently facilitated the timely document Declaration for Healthy Food and Agriculture.
Kleiman was also the founding leader of the LA Slow Food Convivium.
She teaches cooking and leads food tours of Italy and Los Angeles. She jokes that she has a special place in her heart for pie.
