Why AAPAN Was Founded

UCLA AAPAN was officially launched during the 50th Anniversary celebration of UCLA's Academic Advancement Program, marking a milestone that honored five decades of impact while looking ahead to the future.

The network was established by a dedicated group of founding board members whose shared commitment to access, equity and excellence helped shape AAPAN's vision and structure. Created to strengthen and formalize lifelong connections among AAP alumni, students and supporters, AAPAN's mission is to build community well beyond graduation and across generations.
