The results of Albert’s work are so innovative that he has already published four papers in leading scientific journals. He has significantly advanced the field of ion channels with novel optic fluorescence techniques, which are now being applied to other fields of neuroscience. He is not only a talented researcher but an active member of the campus community as well, having chaired the Student Fee Advisory Committee, which advises the chancellor on the allocation of more than $20 million in student registration fees, and serving as a graduate school representative to the Faculty Executive Committee – UCLA School of Medicine.
