Francine Maigue ’05

Francine's creative academic contributions to the World Arts and Cultures Department have enabled her to reach out to college bound youth. As the founder and director of the Educating Youth Through the Arts project, Francine invites young artists and WAC undergraduate students to come together and discover a place of endless possibilities. This program allows students to stay in the on-campus residential suites, take classes within the UCLA WAC Department, and even participate in a commencement ceremony at Royce Hall.
Francine has continued to contribute to the UCLA, Los Angeles, and the Worlds Arts & Cultures communities by founding the Outta WAC Undergraduate Dance Co. This project exhibits the work of the department's undergraduate students and develops outreach programs to encourage high school students to pursue a university education, as well as works with charities and entertains thousands of audience members with performances.
Through her extensive involvement with the Office of Residential Life, Francine has played an integral in serving the on-campus community. She has been a president of De Neve Plaza Residents' Association, a Hedrick Hall and Hitch Suites resident assistant, and a Leadership Intern Program workshop leader. Francine is currently the Assistant Resident Director of Saxon Suites, where she continues to demonstrate her commitment to making a difference in the lives of her residents.
