The teamwork of Gloria and Paul Griffin has enhanced the University many times over. Their individual contributions are formidable, and together their loyalty and devotion make them very special members of the UCLA family.

The Griffins are the founding officers of the West Valley Bruin Alumni Association, a group that has served as a model for other Bruin regional clubs. The Griffins are active in their support of UCLA athletics, and they have opened their hearts and home to many UCLA students throughout the years. They are both honorary life members of the Chancellor’s Associates and life members of the UCLA Alumni Association.

Gloria Griffin received her bachelor’s in education from UCLA in 1961. She has served the Alumni Association for more than 12 years as director-at-large, chairman of the Alumni Council and first vice president.

A 1953 graduate of UCLA with a bachelor’s degree in engineering, Paul Griffin has been a member of the UCLA Foundation Board of Trustees since 1977, serving on its Executive Committee since 1981.

The Griffins are especially proud of their eight children, six of whom have made UCLA their alma mater: David ’80, who is currently in the M.B.A. program; Kathleen and Paul III ’79; Kristene ’76; Diane and Gregory, who are presently juniors; and John and Matthew who are looking forward to attending the University in the near future.

The Griffins’ boundless enthusiasm and enduring commitment represent a shining example of love for alma mater.
