Harry Pregerson sits as circuit judge with the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. The author of more than 235 published legal opinions, his background in court proceedings is extensive. His insight and integrity have earned him a position of high professional regard.

Judge Pregerson was a practicing attorney for more than 10 years before entering the judiciary in 1965 as a Los Angeles Municipal Court judge. He then assumed the bench in the Los Angeles Superior Court, and he later became a judge with the United States District Court.

In his service of nearly two decades, Judge Pregerson has presided over thousands of cases, many of them highly sensitive and heavily publicized. His most influential rulings have dealt with civil rights, consumer protection, employment discrimination, freedom of speech and press and preservation of the environment. His skill as a jurist was evident in his sensitive handling of the hearings involving the move of the Raiders football team to Los Angeles.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Judge Pregerson served as student body president in 1943 and earned his B.A. in 1947. His law degree was granted by the University of California, Berkeley. He is a decorated Marine Corps combat veteran of World War II.
