Jennifer Ferro ’91Jennifer Ferro is the recipient of 2018 UCLA Award for Public Service. She currently serves as president of KCRW, an award-winning National Public Radio member station that creates and curates a unique mix of content centered around music discovery, NPR news, cultural exploration and informed public affairs. Ferro’s leadership has transformed the organization from Southern California's flagship public radio station to a worldwide digital content distributor that seeks to build community through the discovery of music, news and culture both in person, online and on the air. Under Ferro’s management, KCRW creates 100 hours of original programming per week, will complete a $48 million capital campaign and move into its first-ever, stand alone, state-of-the-art facility in 2018. This new home will allow KCRW to solidify its impact as a true community institution. In 2011, Ferro was selected as one of Los Angeles' Game Changing Women Leaders Who Make an Impact in L.A. by Los Angeles Magazine. She received dual UCLA degrees in psychology and political science, and is a dedicated mentor to numerous UCLA students through the UCLA ONE platform. Ferro is a life member of the Alumni Association.
