Joan Palevsky ’47

In the Los Angeles and UCLA communities, the name Joan Palevsky is synonymous with the term of dedicated volunteer. Her commitment to serving the University has a catalytic effect on the advancement of UCLA support groups. She is also a vital resource in the development of new scholarship funding. Palevsky has been a member of the fine arts and architecture and urban planning Dean’s Councils. She is a trustee of The UCLA Foundation and a supporter of Royce 270. She is described as “a private and unpretentious lady who works wonders in quiet ways.” Her efforts, however, have not gone unnoticed. She is a recognized and much appreciated benefactor of the arts whose contributions have touched many UCLA and community members. She received a B.A. in French from UCLA in 1947 and an M.A., also in French, from the University of Wisconsin.
