Ulysses’ rich and varied community involvement has profoundly impacted the lives he has touched. His service includes UCLA’s Chancellor’s Community Advisory Commission, the Los Angeles Unified School District’s Integration Program and the Civil Defense and Disaster Corps. For his ceaseless efforts on behalf of others, Ulysses has received, among other awards, Humanitarian of the Year Award (All City Employees Benefits and Service Association); a Lifetime Community Service Award (Kappa Psi Fraternity); and commendations from Los Angeles mayors Tom Bradley ’41 (1974 Edward A. Dickson Alumnus of the Year) and Richard Riordan.
