Before retiring from the LA Times in 2020, Chris wrote for the Sports, Travel, and Saturday sections and served as an editor on the Features staff. As part of two Pulitzer Prize-winning teams, he contributed groundbreaking graphics work, but he’s best known for his witty weekly columns on the quirks of suburban Los Angeles living.

A prolific author, Chris has written several books, including Daditude (2018), a collection of his favorite Times columns on fatherhood. His other works—Man of the House, Lavender in Your Lemonade, and Surviving Suburbia—have all landed on the Los Angeles Times bestseller list. Hailing from Chicago, Chris has also worked for newspapers in New Orleans and Miami. Dubbed the “master of domestic dramedy,” he continues to entertain with his sharp humor and keen observations.
