Strong boards do not form by chance. This Leaders 2 Leaders session will provide you with practical strategies for recruiting, engaging and retaining dedicated volunteer leaders.
You’ll hear insights from experienced alumni leaders representing a variety of perspectives and networks, including:
- Andrea Arias ’03 and Jennifer Mora ’96, Latino Alumni Association
- Sally Lew ’70, Asian Pacific Alumni Network
- Feiyang Liu ’17, New York Tri-State Network
- Vanessa Montiel ’16, South Bay Network
The conversation will be moderated by Manaf Mansure ’08, a member of the UCLA Alumni Board of Directors, who brings nearly two decades of experience in alumni engagement, fundraising and volunteer strategy to this discussion.
We’ll explore questions like:
- What does an engaged board look like and how can you achieve it?
- How can you identify, recruit and retain board members who reflect your mission and community?
- What are some simple ways to keep volunteers engaged and inspired between meetings?
- How can you navigate transitions or reset expectations with clarity and consideration?
Whether you are recruiting your first board or revitalizing a long-standing one, you will leave with actionable ideas and renewed confidence.
This is your special space to ask questions, share thoughts, and spark new ideas. Together, we can create stronger, more connected communities that thrive!
