Join San Fernando Valley Bruins at the Santa Monica Mountains Fund Native Plant Nursery in Newbury Park for a tour of the nursery, seed collection and pressed plant herbarium, followed by a chance to work in the nursery to support native plant conservation in the Santa Monica Mountains!
The Native Plant Nursery collects native seeds, curates a native plant herbarium, and grows over 50,000 plants a year to conserve and restore our local mountains.
Families and children (recommended ages are 9 years old and above) are welcome! Participants will also receive a free native plant or seeds.

The main entrance to the facility is at Via Goleta and Lynn Road, Newbury Park, CA, 91320
From the Ventura Fwy (101) to Lynn Rd exit. South on Lynn Rd 5.25 miles to Via Goleta. Park entrance is on the left.
1. Park in the main visitor parking lot: Car Park for Sycamore Canyon
2. Walk past the left side of the bathrooms, past the Eucalyptus grove.
3. Walk into and past the horse stable area, and into Rancho Sierra Vista Nursery.
Total walking time averages less than 3 minutes. If you are walking for longer you may be walking the wrong way! Call or text 805-844-7449 if you are lost.
