Get ready for the Great American Total Solar Eclipse set for April 2024 at our January Luncheon! Join the Town & Gown Affiliates and the Westwood Women's Bruin Club as UCLA Planetary Astronomy Professor Jean-Luc Margot shares his expertise on this exciting event. The next total solar eclipse will not cross the United States until 2044; you won't want to miss out!
Professor Margot has previously hosted two total solar eclipse trips, a transit of Venus viewing party in 2012 and a partial eclipse viewing party in 2023. He enjoys communicating science to a variety of audiences and was awarded the UCLA Excellence in Science Outreach Award in 2023.
Christel Aragon, director of UCLA Alumni Travel, will also be present to highlight various upcoming trips with Alumni Travel, including initiatives with Total Solar Eclipse and Northern Lights tours.
