Joseph Friedman

Joseph Friedman is an MD/PhD candidate in the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. Joe completed his undergraduate training in Anthropology before earning master’s degree in Public Health at the University of Washington in the department of Global Health. Before attending medical school, he also completed a fellowship in data science, at the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation. Joe’s recent publications relate broadly to social epidemiology, including quantifying inequality in the social determinants of health, measuring access to health systems globally and in the United States, and disease modeling and forecasting.
