Amy E. Goodman ’95 is a nationally-recognized media maven. Her journalistic career as an editor, author, host and lifestyle expert spans magazines, news programs and online media outlets. With quality reporting and a no-nonsense attitude she deftly covers anything and everything, including fashion and beauty, home and entertaining, fitness and family, and red carpet. She has demoed yoga, interviewed celebrities, cleaned out closets and whipped up hors d’oeuvres for national outlets like Good Morning America, The Early Show, The View, The Rachael Ray Show, CNN, Access Hollywood, ET! and VH1. A multi-faceted expert, she has appeared on NBC’s Today show over 75 times.

Her career is grounded in women’s magazines, having been an editor and correspondent at In Style, a senior editor at All You and an editor-at-large for Southern Living. She has also collaborated with countless others such as Marie Claire, Women’s Health, Shape and Latina, and sites like YahooShine.com, TotalBeauty.com, iVillage.com and SheFinds.com.

Her fast-selling first book, Wear This, Toss That!, is filled with practical fashion and beauty advice for real women. It débuted on Today and became the #1 fashion book on Amazon.com. The book also has been covered by People Stylewatch, Real Simple, Woman’s Day and Health, among others, and has received resounding support from the blogger community. Goodman continues to zigzag across the country for book signings and styling workshops, presenting at nonprofits and corporate retreats alike.

She also penned an essay for the book My City, My New York, and contributed to and co-edited Full Bloom: Cultivating Success, a motivational book for young women.

In addition to her prolific editorial and on-air experience, Goodman is a highly sought spokesperson and host. She frequently co-hosted TBS’ Movie and a Makeover and hosted Washington Flyer TV. Often interviewed by national newspapers like USA Today, the Chicago Sun Times and the Washington Post, radio shows and blogs, she is a regular on the satellite media tour circuit. Currently Goodman is Timex’s Fashion Trend Director.

She is a working mom who cherishes her two children and multitasks to the point of taking conference calls while driving a carpool. Goodman practices yoga and is a classically trained Japanese dancer and tea ceremony student. She cultivates an herb garden, enjoys making guacamole, adores travel and treasures home-cooked meals with friends.

Goodman is a member of Phi Beta Kappa, a summa cum laude graduate of UCLA and holds a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism. She is a proud member of the Asian-American Journalists Association, a board member for both HealthyWomen.org and Distinguished Young Women’s Alumnae Council and holds two positions with her local Mother’s Club.

A native of Santa Rosa, Calif., she currently resides in the Washington, D.C. area, with her husband and two children.
