Chuck Harrington M.B.A. ’87

Earlier this year, the Board of Directors of Parsons Corporation, an engineering and construction firm with revenues exceeding $3.6 billion in 2007, named Chuck Harrington M.B.A. ’87 as its CEO, effective May 20, 2008. Parsons employs more than 11,500 people worldwide and specializes in providing its clients with comprehensive solutions to complex technical and management challenges.
Harrington joined Parsons in 1982 as an engineer and progressed through project management of large programs for federal government and private industrial clients to business development, operations, and division management. Prior to his appointment in 2006 to executive vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer, he was the president of Parsons Commercial Technology Group, a $900 million global business unit with 3,500 employees that he developed, nurtured, and grew.
Harrington holds a master’s degree in business administration, finance, and marketing from UCLA, as well as a bachelor’s degree in engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. He also attended the Advanced Management Program at the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. He is a registered professional mechanical engineer and a graduate of the Parsons Rotating Management Program.
In addition to his responsibilities at Parsons, Harrington serves on the boards of several volunteer organizations, including an economic development agency, chamber of commerce and performing arts center. Harrington also sponsored Parsons’ support of Toastmasters International, an assisted reading program, and Friendship Trays.
