Florence Sloan, Parent '10"Leopoldstadt," co-produced by UCLA Foundation board member Florence Sloan, CEO of Golden Karavan Productions, has won the 2023 Tony Award for best play.

A synopsis from the website states, "Set in Vienna, the play takes its title from the Jewish quarter. This passionate drama of love and endurance begins in the last days of 1899 and follows one extended family deep into the heart of the 20th century. Full of his customary wit and beauty, [Tom] Stoppard’s late work spans fifty years of time over two hours."

Sloan and her husband, Harry '71, former chairman and CEO of MGM and a member of UCLA Anderson’s board of advisors, established the Harry and Florence Sloan Foundation in order to provide grants focusing on preserving arts and culture, educational advancement and medical research.

Their daughter, Whitney '10, majored in political science; their son, Christopher, is currently attending UCLA Anderson.
