Katya Daniel '08Over the course of her career, Katya has had the opportunity to build high-performing teams and lead successful programs across nearly every aspect of global talent acquisition and people operations. Her approach is data-driven, relentlessly curious, and focused on building strong stakeholder relationships to ensure talent strategy supports business strategy. As a leader, she believes empathy, transparency, and a growth mindset are critical to fostering inclusive cultures where employees are inspired and empowered to do their best work. She’s passionate about all things health & wellness, healthtech, psychology, leadership, travel, her UCLA alumni community, and helping others succeed in their careers.

Her specialties include high-growth hiring, employer branding, recruiting process design, candidate assessments, technical recruitment, executive search, early career/intern programs, talent metrics & analytics, leadership development, international expansions (experience across LATAM, EMEA & APAC), employment law & compliance, DEI initiatives, L&D programs, employee experience & engagement, organizational design, and total rewards/ compensation strategy.

Prior to her current role, Katya led Talent Acquisition for TigerConnect, a successful LA-based healthtech startup. Before joining TC, she led the global contingent workforce program for Intuit and managed a large, globally dispersed team. Prior to working in tech, she served at the University of California, Office of the President, and the University of Texas Health Science Center where she led systemwide and institution-specific executive recruitment programs. She has also worked in global talent acquisition in the energy industry and began her career in London, holding leadership positions with two executive search firms where she started and led teams expanding into new markets.

She holds a master’s from University College London and a bachelor’s from UCLA. In 2019, she received the UCLA Young Alumnus of the Year award for contributions to the UCLA community and professional achievement in global talent acquisition, executive recruitment, and leadership development. The following year, she delivered the commencement address to the UCLA International Institute Class of 2020.
