As the daughter of parents who immigrated from Guatemala, I was the first in my family to attend college. I could not have attended a better University than UCLA. I spent my junior year (1977-78) abroad in Padova, Italy, where I met the man who would become my husband years later.
I went on to obtain my J.D. from Hastings College of the Law in 1982. For more than 17 years, I’ve served as the assistant district attorney for the San Francisco district attorney’s office. I credit my Alumni Scholarship with assisting me in realizing both my short-term and long-term goals.
The financial assistance and academic support I received helped me immensely. I am grateful now to be able to support other students who could benefit from Alumni Scholarships.
