Monique Henderson ’07

Senior-to-be Monique Henderson ’07 won a gold medal on Saturday as a member of the women's 4x400m relay team at the Athens Olympics. Henderson ran the second leg of the relay in a time of 50.28 as the US team ran a season-best 3:19.01.

“After the Olympic trials I made the team as an alternate so I came here thinking maybe I'd get a chance to run,” said Henderson. “Little did I know I'd be here on the final relay team getting a gold medal. It's something I didn't expect and it's a wonderful, amazing feeling right now.”
