ULAA Giving Tuesday

Hello Fellow Bruins!

We hope you and your loved ones are safe and healthy.

On #GivingTuesday, November 30, 2021, consider supporting UCLA Latino Alumni Association (ULAA) to ensure Latino students on UCLA’s campus have necessary technology and resources to continue their academic pursuits during the COVID-19 pandemic.

ULAA is dedicated to providing significant and meaningful support for future Latino scholars and community leaders.  Last year, ULAA awarded over $30,000 to 19 students and was able to provide additional emergency support to one of our scholarship recipients during the pandemic.  To foster community during these challenging times, 100% of ULAA’s 2020/2021 Board members have pledged contributions to the UCLA Latino Alumni Scholarship Fund (link below).

Typical funding packages awarded to needy UCLA students leave a significant gap in funding and ULAA provides resources such as additional financial aid, mentorships (https://www.uclalatinoalumni.com/orgulloso), and networking opportunities to support a more robust college experience for Latino students.

Alumni support is critical and will have long-lasting impact for a number of reasons, including:

      • For the first time, in 2020, Latino students are the largest group of Californians admitted to the UC system.
      • UCLA ranks #1 among elite institutions in socioeconomic mobility.
      • 1 in 4 UCLA graduates advance two or more income levels.
      • At least 1 in 2 students rely on financial assistance to attend UCLA.

As the cost of college increases nationwide, ULAA Scholarships help UCLA recruit and cultivate some of the nation’s most talented Latino students.

ULAA needs your help now to continue to award scholarships to deserving Latino students.
