Sheila Kouhkan ’10
Kouhkan joined the board of the Young Alumni Professionals in 2015. She is the No Kill LA (NKLA) Manager for Best Friends Animal Society, pursuing a career in public service and a passion for saving animals. Kouhkan is active in the Los Angeles political scene. In her spare time, she attends UCLA sporting events, hikes with her dog, travels abroad and volunteers for local animal rescues.
Eric Horwitz ’07
Horwitz is the proud son of two Bruins, who met as undergrads through mutual friends. He is a chef, Lego robotics expert and founder of LIFT Enrichment, a company that more than five years has taught kids throughout Los Angeles how to cook healthy foods as well as build and program robots. Horwitz is a world traveler who recently spent three weeks exploring and cooking in Argentina. Outside of work, he enjoys watching all types of films, biking around Culver City and winning cars on game shows.
Jeni La ’12
La joined the board of UCLA Young Alumni Professionals in 2015 after a dark period on the other side of town where she realized her hopes to build a community for UCLA young alumni. Today, she remains involved with UCLA as a football season ticket holder, a volunteer for UCLA Alumni Scholarships and a member of UCLA Prytanean Alumnae Association. La currently works at DaVita HealthCare Partners, and has previously worked at AECOM and UCLA Health. Her varied interests outside of work all involve food and drink in some way, whether it’s hosting tailgates and dinners or going on taco runs.
Jonathan Myers ’10
Myers is a lifetime Bruin who is seeking to strengthen the alumni community with his skills and passion. He is currently the account development manager at SportUp and runs Professional Rebel Clothing which sells in a handful of stores around Southern California. Outside of work Myers is a world traveler, master chef and sports fanatic. He is also passionate about giving back and recently started a basketball league for 18 schools in South Los Angeles. Myers has also been a mentor through Big Brothers, Big Sisters for the last three years.
Matthew Nusinow ’11
Nusinow is a proud Bruin who is seeking to reconnect with and strengthen the young alumni community. He currently works in Downtown Los Angeles at FTI Consulting as a financial consultant, often assisting companies in distressed or litigious circumstances. Aside from work, Nusinow enjoys spending time with friends, playing fantasy sports and listening to podcasts. He is also passionate about volunteer work, and currently serves on the Community Service Committee of Urban Land Institute Los Angeles Young Leaders Group.
Sahil Punamia ’13
Punamia spent much of his time at UCLA helping fellow Bruins with their careers by leading a number of student organizations geared towards professional development; these included the Undergraduate Business Society, Bruin Consulting and Sigma Eta Pi. Since graduating, Punamia has been pursuing his career as a growth strategy consultant at L.E.K. Consulting. Aside from consulting, she is also founder of the Aspiring Professional, a coaching company that helps college students and recent grads across the nation launch and progress their careers.
Misha Silin ’09
Silin is one of the founding members of UCLA Young Alumni Professionals, originally joining under its previous name “Bruin Business Network” as director of membership. He is passionate about strengthening the UCLA community and network by connecting UCLA alumni, new and old, and students. Silin is part of the Silicon Beach scene in Los Angeles, currently working as a product manager for ZipRecruiter in Santa Monica. He loves listening to and DJing electronic music, the outdoors and traveling. In 2014 he was at the Brazil world cup cheering on the USMNT, last year he was in Europe and this summer he went to Russia and Africa on his honeymoon with his wife Chandley who recently received her master’s degree from UCLA.
