This summit is a collaborative effort between the UCLA Alumni Association Board of Directors and the staff of UCLA Alumni Affairs.

Land Acknowledgement

UCLA Alumni acknowledges the Gabrielino/Tongva peoples as the traditional land caretakers of Tovaangar (Los Angeles basin and Southern Channel Islands).

As a land grant institution, we pay our respects to Honuukvetam (ancestors), 'Ahiihirom (elders) and 'eyoohiinkem (our relatives/relations). Past, present and emerging.

Positionality

We created this summit under the framework of Critical Race Theory. It deploys anti-racism and social justice values in its organization and execution. From shared governance to actionable practices, this summit centers Black, Indigenous and people of color experiences.

We come to this work holistically. We understand that racism impacts us both professionally and personally. This summit is a gift of gratitude to our community members that are on the frontlines of anti-racism work.
