Calling all alumni in consulting, technology, investment banking and finance! The UCLA Alumni Association is hosting a networking reception featuring the UCLA William F. Sharpe Fellows where Bruins, students and alumni alike, can meet top leaders and emerging exceptional talent in these industries.

With the goal of leveraging the UCLA network to facilitate jobs for Bruins, UCLA Alumni Career Engagement is bringing together alumni from programs across the campus. There will be extensive networking opportunities throughout the evening.

Meet The Speakers


Emily Tseng '13

Senior Director, TMT - Corporate Finance & Restructuring, and Chief of Staff to Global Head of Strategy & Transformation at FTI Consulting

At FTI Consulting, Emily has led high-impact client engagements in strategy-led transformations, merger integrations, financial advisory, due diligence—primarily within the technology sector. She has supported internal strategic initiatives and driven transformation programs across the Strategy, Transformation, and Transactions practices.

Emily is also actively involved in practice development, actively contributing to recruiting, L&D, culture committee, and Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging (DI&B) initiatives. Passionate about social impact, Emily has also led a pro bono consulting engagement, including creating a cost-to-serve model to support nonprofit expansion, developing ESG metrics, and launching a live reporting dashboard.

Prior to joining FTI, Emily worked in PwC’s Financial Due Diligence practice, following her earlier experience in the Audit practice.
During her time at PwC, she primarily served clients across the entertainment, media, technology and communications sectors.

She holds a B.A. in Economics with a minor in Accounting from UCLA and is a licensed CPA in the state of California.

Outside of work, Emily is a dedicated fitness enthusiast who loves discovering new restaurants, experimenting with new recipes, getting lost in a good book, and spending quality time with family and friends. She’s also an avid traveler—recent adventures include Cape Town, the Maldives, and Taiwan, with Cabo, Milan, Lake Como and Deer Valley on her horizon.


Jim Adams MS '99, MBA '05

Partner at McKinsey & Company

Jim brings deep knowledge of Aerospace and Defense supporting corporate and financial sponsor clients operating at all levels of the Aerospace and Defense value chain, with a focus on competitiveness.  Jim integrates ~10 years of industry experience at a Defense Prime (in Program Management and engineering roles) with nearly 20 years of consulting experience in Aerospace & Defense. He specializes in strategy-based transformation, corporate strategy / corporate development, acquisition support, and improving company and product competitiveness.

Prior to joining McKinsey, Jim held consulting leadership roles at KPMG (U.S. Aerospace & Defense Practice Leader), PwC Strategy& / formerly Booz&Co (U.S. Aerospace & Defense Strategy Practice Leader)

Prior to consulting Jim worked at Defense Prime for nearly 10 years with roles in Program Management and Engineering (Jim held an SSBI clearance for over 20 years).  Jim also held engineering roles at Berkeley Space Science Laboratory. Jim earned his MBA from the Anderson School of Management at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and his Masters of Science from the Samueli School of Engineering at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).  Jim holds a bachelors of science degree in mechanical engineering from University of California, Berkeley.


Kyle Kearney '16

Vice President, Consumer & Retail Investment Banking at Intrepid Investment Bankers

Kyle works closely with entrepreneurs and management teams on M&A and capital markets transactions across a variety of industries, including apparel and lifestyle brands, direct-to-consumer-brands, and consumer services. In addition to his transactional duties, he is actively engaged in various firm-building activities, including recruiting and Intrepid’s new analyst training program.

Before joining Intrepid, Kyle worked at Duff & Phelps on middle-market M&A, restructuring and transaction opinions. He has also worked at Citigroup’s Corporate & Investment Bank covering Latin America as well as in commercial banking and commercial real estate. Kyle also received his B.A in English from the University of California, Los Angeles.

In 2014, Congresswomen Grace Napolitano and Judy Chu awarded him the United States Congress’ highest award for American youth, a Congressional Award Gold Medal.

Kyle is an avid outdoorsman and loves learning about and experiencing new cultures, a result of having traveled to over 50 countries across five continents.


Michael Terry '96, MBA '04

Executive Vice President of Account
Management at PIMCO

Michael Terry is an Executive Vice President at PIMCO, based in the Newport Beach office. He specializes in account management, focusing on financial institution client servicing. Michael joined PIMCO in 2008 after serving as Vice President in the Institutional Equity Derivatives group at Morgan Stanley in New York City.

Michael earned his MBA from the Anderson School of Management at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). During his time at Anderson, he was actively involved in the Student Investment Fund (SIF) and served as a volunteer mentor for the Riordan Fellows Program. Prior to business school, Michael worked as a strategic consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he focused on CRM solutions for companies in the media and telecom industries.

Michael began his professional career in financial consulting and entrepreneurship, concentrating on cash flow modeling for distressed companies and business plan creation. He holds an undergraduate degree from UCLA, where he was an Academic All-American, a four-time Pac-10 Champion Track and Field team member, and a recipient of the Pac-10 Medal Award, which honors individuals who excel in scholarship, athletics, and leadership. In 1996, Michael fulfilled his athletic dream by competing in the 26th Olympic Games in Atlanta.


Sharad Aggarwal, MBA '24

Global Head of Vendor Strategy and Solutions at Google

Sharad Aggarwal is the Global Head of Vendor Strategy & Solutions at Google Cloud, where he leads strategic partnerships globally, overseeing a portfolio worth over $1 billion.

With over 24 years of experience in the big tech industry, including senior roles at IBM and Google, Sharad specializes in business strategy, consulting and strategic alliances. He has successfully negotiated numerous multi-million-dollar deals that drive business growth and innovation.

An active investor in alternative assets (startups, large syndications), Sharad is a frequent speaker at industry panels, sharing insights on BigTech and business strategy.

Sharad holds an Executive MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management with triple specialization. He consistently mentors university students, alumni, startups, and C-suite executives, hosting monthly office hours on business strategy, AI, and emerging technologies.
