A Letter from the Associate Vice Chancellor of Alumni Affairs

The UCLA Alumni Association is here to support all Bruins – including you and your student! In this letter, Dr. Julie Sina, Associate Vice Chancellor of Alumni Affairs and CEO of the UCLA Alumni Association, shares how your Bruin family can take advantage of Alumni Association resources and make the most of your relationship with UCLA.

Dear Bruin Families,

Welcome to the UCLA family! Your students will soon embark on the journey of a lifetime. And they will have the support of over 600,000 alumni each step of the way.

Congratulations on your students’ achievement of earning UCLA admission! As Bruins, they have access to UCLA’s vast network of resources including opportunities sponsored by the UCLA Alumni Association. Meeting students and alumni wherever they are in their life stages, the Association provides services and programs to help the Bruin community thrive and succeed. From the summer student send-off events in hometowns across the globe to new grad career resources and “second act” events in retirement years, the Association helps UCLA fulfill the Bruin Promise in so many ways.

As your students launch into the academic year, please know you can count on the Alumni Association throughout the year to be a source of communication, resources, programming and access point to our campus. As important, know that your students will be supported by a campus that welcomes the diversity of all of our communities.

Be on the look-out for regular e-newsletters and special communications on important issues. Your students will receive their own communications, but in the meantime, I invite you to encourage them to consider these action steps to start:

And as Bruin families, you are invited to stay connected with the University through the UCLA Parent and Family Association, which offers wonderful resources like the Bruinlink Newsletter and the Bruin Family Insights podcast.

All of these opportunities are made possible by a dedicated professional staff who care deeply about supporting your students to flourish and make the most out of their UCLA experience. We’ll help make the most of your UCLA family experience as well. Once a Bruin, always a Bruin, and that includes you!

In community,

Julie
