Alumni Mentor Program - Alumni

The UCLA Alumni Mentor Program enables alumni to share their professional and personal experience and expertise with current UCLA undergraduate and graduate students.

As an alumni mentor, you will have the opportunity to provide students academic guidance as well as career and personal development advice. Your mentorship can empower students to create a game plan for the year ahead, explore career possibilities and even begin to build their network. We encourage mentors and students to connect on a regular basis (e.g., by phone, video conference or email). However, the frequency and form of communication are things you both can determine.

Whether you are right down the street or across the globe, we invite alumni from around the world to be part of the UCLA Alumni Mentor Program.

Please look to explore our FAQ page for commonly received program questions. For specific questions please contact alumnimentor@alumni.ucla.edu

Wilson Cheung ’91

Undergraduate Mentor

"One particular instance that highlights Wilson's unwavering support is when I was facing a difficult career decision. He dedicated extensive time to discussing the options with me, weighing the pros and cons of each path. He patiently listened to my concerns, asked thought-provoking questions, and shared his own experiences to help me gain clarity. His guidance ultimately empowered me to make an informed decision and embark on a path that aligns with my long-term goals.”

- Alice Yang, fourth-year economics major

Brandon Koretz, EMBA ’13

Graduate Mentor

"Observing Dr. Koretz at his practice rewarded me with elegant demonstrations on how to express paternalistic confidence as appropriate, as well as uncertainty — followed by a vow to delve further — when stumped. He exemplified various approaches for fostering healthy physician-patient rapport, all while managing time efficiently and showing appreciation for all the members of the clinic that are vital to a productive and welcoming healthcare experience.”
