Join First Gen

Be a part of the only alumni network in the UC system that is exclusively for first-generation UCLA students and alumni!

Navigating college and the professional world as a first-gen is undoubtedly distinct from the non-first-generation journey, which is why the UCLA First Gen Alumni Network provides resources that are tailored specifically to the unique first-generation college experience. As a member, you have access to First Gen events, which include professional panels, volunteer events, social gatherings and student recruitment efforts. Membership is completely free for all first-generation UCLA students and alumni. There are many ways to get involved and feel free to bring your friends!

Why join the First Generation Alumni Network?

Leverage the Network: Over 5,000 First Gen Alumni members inspire one another to succeed with encouragement, mentoring, perspective and by serving as positive role models. Be a part of this ground-breaking network when networking is the way 87% of jobs are filled these days.

Notable First Gens:  UCLA First Gen Alumni include Tom Bradley, Ralph Bunche, and Jackie Robinson. Coach John Wooden was also First Gen.

Participate: Attend events and programs. Bookmark the calendar and check back often for updates.

Volunteer:  Find volunteer opportunities in Los Angeles or anywhere in the world. Impact the community in the ways that are meaningful to you.
