2025-2026 ULAA Board Nominations

Our vision is to be the premier alumni organization of UCLA that uplifts Latino Bruin achievement and celebrates our diverse and ever-evolving comunidad. The UCLA Latino Alumni Association (ULAA) is seeking dynamic leaders interested in serving on the Board of Directors to support and advance the Latino community, including alumni, students, faculty and staff.

Nominations for the 2025-26 board year are now open for a one-year term beginning July 1, 2025, and ending June 30, 2026. All nominations must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, April 18, 2025.

Board Structure

The ULAA Board of Directors consists of 15 members. The board may also establish a special committee, as needed, to determine membership, duties and term length by board approval.

How to Nominate

To be considered for the 2025-26 Board of Directors, complete the Google Form for self-nominations or to nominate someone else.

• Deadline: All nominations must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, April 18, 2025.
• Next Steps: Nominees will be contacted between April 23-30 to confirm acceptance.
• Required Documents: Nominees who accept must submit a resume or curriculum vitae (CV) by May 2.
• Interviews: Those who submit a nomination and resume by May 2 will be invited for a Zoom interview between May 5-16, 2025, with the Ad Hoc Selection Committee.
• Final Selection: Selected individuals will be notified between June 10-20.
• Announcement: The 2025-26 ULAA Board will be announced by July 1, 2025.

Board Positions

President

The president serves as the official spokesperson and representative of ULAA. Responsibilities include:

• Calling and presiding over board meetings.
• Serving on a standing committee.
• Authorizing financial commitments exceeding $2,500 upon board approval.
• Overseeing external financial accounts with board approval.
• Collaborating with the Ad Hoc Selection Committee on board structure.

Vice President

The vice president assumes the president’s duties when necessary and serves on a standing committee.

Associate Vice President

The associate vice president assists the president and vice president. If the vice president is absent or resigns, the associate vice president assumes those responsibilities.

Secretary

The secretary is the custodian of ULAA records and maintains meeting minutes, agendas and archives. Additional duties include:

• Presenting minutes for board approval.
• Maintaining inventory and materials produced by ULAA.
• Serving on a standing committee.

Treasurer

The treasurer oversees ULAA’s financial operations, including:

• Managing the fiscal administration of ULAA.
• Preparing quarterly financial reports and analyses.
• Coordinating financial accounts, including checking, payment and UCLA-managed accounts.
• Serving on the Finance Committee.
• Authorizing financial commitments exceeding $2,500 upon board approval.

ULAA Committees

Alumni Engagement Committee – Engages ULAA alumni through communications, in-person and virtual events.

Fundraising Committee – Leads and tracks ULAA’s fundraising efforts.

Marketing Committee – Manages external communications, including website updates, newsletters, design assets and social media.

Student Success Committee – Oversees the ULAA mentorship program and connects students with university resources. This committee also engages with ULAA scholarship recipients.

University Relations Committee – Facilitates networking and career events between alumni and students, while engaging with the university on policy issues affecting Latino alumni.
